What is a PhotoFractional?

The PhotoFractional™ is a combination treatment utilizing both the IPL and ResurFX™ tecnologies to combat skin conditions. Combining the two treatment modalities allows both skin texture and color to be treated simultaneously.

What are the benefits of a PhotoFractional?

The PhotoFractional™ treatment effectively reduces signs of aging while enhancing skin tone and color to give you rejuvenated, beautiful skin. The treatment triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue while the unaffected areas act as a reservoir for rapid restoration. As collagen remodels the skin texture and melanin or pigment is destroyed, a fresher, more youthful appearance develops.

What results are expected with a PhotoFractional?

A PhotoFractional restores skin to its fresh, healthy state in both texture and color. The bottom line is new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of skin imperfections and discolorations.

What can I expect during treatments with a PhotoFractional?

A PhotoFractional involves minimal discomfort and virtually no downtime. In order to minimize discomfort, a topical numbing medication is applied to the treatment area for thirty minutes before treatment begins. The treatment is described as minimally uncomfortable and feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin. Since this treatment utilizes both IPL and ResurFX technologies plus numbing, it is a 1.5 hour long session.

Generally 3-4 sessions at four-week intervals are needed for optimal results. Immediately following treatment, you may experience a tingling or burning sensation. Redness and a sunburn feeling are common for a few hours up to 2 days post-treatment. In the first 48 hours some slight swelling may occur.

What aftercare is recommended following a PhotoFractional treatment?

As new skin replaces dead tissue, your skin will flake, a sign that healing is underway. Your may also experience “scab” like spots of pigment as discoloration is brought to the surface. This usually occurs from day 5-7. Your skin will being to look more glowing and smooth and will steadily improve over the next few months. It is recommended that you use a gentle cleanser daily and apply a moisturizer that contains sunscreen after cleansing. You should also limit sun exposure for the next 2-4 weeks to minimize risk of damaging your new, beautiful skin.

What are the possible side effects associated with a PhotoFractional ?

A PhotoFractional may cause reddening, blistering, scabbing, temporary bruising, and temporary discoloration of the skin. Rarely, side effects may include scarring and permanent discoloration.

Am I a candidate for a PhotoFractional ?
