ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing

What is ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing?

ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing is a laser, fractional, ablative treatment of the skin that improves texture and tone, smoothes wrinkles, and diminishes brown spots. Using a nonablative laser technolohy and advanced scanner, the ResurFX™ allows for over 600 skin type combinations so every treatment is optimal for every individual. ResurFX™ resurfaces the skin to visibly reduce fine lines, wrinkles, pitting of the skin, acne scarring, and other skin texture inconsistencies.

ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing, like chemical peels, dermabrasion, and microdermabrasion, is commonly used to restore the youthful appearance to skin. The gentleness of the procedure allows delicate areas to be treated as safely as the face with little risk of infection.

What are the benefits of ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing?

ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing is based on the principle of micro-thermal treatment zones. The laser pulses create tiny ablative zones, or micro-channels of injury, removing the epidermis and upper dermis affecting just 15-20% of the skin surface. The treatment triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue while the unaffected areas act as a reservoir for rapid restoration. As collagen remodels the skin texture, a fresher, more youthful appearance develops. While yielding excellent results, most laser skin resurfacing techniques involve a fair amount of discomfort and downtime, including extended periods indoors without any sun exposure. Compared with other methods, ResurFX™ skin resurfacing saves time and discomfort.

What results are expected with ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing?

ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing restores skin to its fresh, healthy state. The bottom line is new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of skin imperfections.

What can I expect during treatments with ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing?

ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing involves minimal discomfort and virtually no downtime. In order to minimize discomfort, a topical numbing medication is applied to the treatment area for thirty minutes before treatment begins. The treatment is described as minimally uncomfortable and feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin.

Generally 3-4 sessions at four-week intervals are needed for optimal results. Immediately following treatment, you may experience a tingling or burning sensation. Redness and a sunburn feeling are common for a few hours up to 2 days post-treatment. In the first 48 hours some slight swelling may occur.

What aftercare is recommended following ResurFX™ Skin Resurfacing treatment?

As new skin replaces dead tissue, your skin will flake, a sign that healing is underway. This usually occurs from day 5-7. Your skin will being to look more glowing and smooth and will steadily improve over the next few months. It is recommended that you use a gentle cleanser daily and apply a moisturizer that contains sunscreen after cleansing. You should also limit sun exposure for the next 2-4 weeks to minimize risk of damaging your new, beautiful skin.
